Artisan cheese with tradition
At Lega dairy we make award-winning cheeses from goat and cow milk. With agricultural values as our foundation we take good time with each cheese. Traditional methods, patience and care give cheeses with unique and authentic flavors that have won several awards.

Brown cheese
Lega's brown cheese is made according to old tradition from Vinje. The cheeses are produced from whole fat, fresh goat milk, and have the light color and mild taste that brown cheese from Vinje is especially known for. This is a soft and fine brown cheese that goes well on bread, flatbread and as accompaniment to baked goods. The taste is round and mild, making the brown cheese easy to enjoy for both young and old.

Stavsfjell – White hard goat cheese
Stavsfjell is the white, hard goat cheese we make at Lega. The cheese is made from goat milk and has a natural rind. It is aged for 3, 6, 9, 12 and 24 months, developing flavor and character according to aging time. 3 months: A mild and firm white cheese with clean and fine flavor. Many compare this to manchego – a kind of Norwegian mountain-home manchego. 6 months: The cheese develops more floral flavor and begins to develop crystals, which adds depth and structure. Has won bronze, silver, gold and super gold. 12 and 24 months: These variants are more similar to parmesan in both taste and texture. Strong, flavorful and absolutely delicious as a snack, grated over pasta or used in cooking. 24 months has won silver. Stavsfjell is a versatile cheese that works equally well on the cheese board, on bread and for cooking.

Hjuring
Hjuring is a mild yellow cheese made from cow milk from Vehus. The cheese is airy in texture and has a round and pleasant taste that suits everyone. Many compare it to cream cheese – mild, gentle and easy to enjoy. We also make Hjuring with caraway and paprika!

Heimros
Heimros is made from cow milk from Vehus. It is a type of gouda with natural rind, and the cheese is aged from 1 month to 24 months. The taste is fresh and good, developing more body and character with longer aging. The shorter aged variants are mild and soft, while those aged longer develop a stronger and more concentrated flavor. Heimros works well on bread, cheese boards and in cooking.

Knubbost
Knubbost is Lega's variant of feta cheese, made from goat milk. The cheese is fresh and lightly salted, with soft and crumbly texture. We make Knubbost both natural and in oil. Knubbost works well in salads, with vegetables, on tapas boards or as accompaniment to various dishes.

Sjaven
Sjaven is a goat cheese aged for 1 month, containing fenugreek. The cheese has a mild and round taste, where the fenugreek stands out and gives the cheese a unique flavor. Sjaven works well as a spread, in salads or as part of a cheese board.

Cream cheese with garlic
Cream cheese with garlic is a soft and spreadable cheese with rich and delicious flavor made from goat milk. The mild cream cheese is balanced with garlic, which gives a fresh and moderately strong taste. This cream is perfect as sauce on white pizza, as spread, dip or as accompaniment to tapas.
